A wonderful piece of British advertising history, this antique James Keiller & Sons Dundee marmalade pot features its original black transfer-printed maker’s mark, framed by an ornate garland of foliage and roses. The inscription celebrates the company’s award-winning marmalade, referencing a Grand Medal of Merit at Vienna in 1873 and a prize medal at the London exhibition in 1862.

Crafted in creamy white glazed stoneware, the pot displays beautiful age-related crazing throughout, along with charming discoloration and signs of its long history. The unadorned reverse showcases the lovely aged glaze, while the cylindrical form and rolled rim give it the classic appearance of a Victorian kitchen preserve pot.

Condition: Significant age-related crazing, staining, and discoloration throughout, with a chip to the rim and a visible crack running down the body. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.

A fantastic display piece for collectors of antique advertising, British pottery, and traditional country kitchen décor. Equally lovely styled on open shelving, in a pantry vignette, or among a collection of antique stoneware.
