A remarkable early 19th-century English clock dial attributed to Walker & Finnemore of Birmingham, prominent clock-dial makers whose partnership operated from approximately 1808 to 1811. Dating to circa 1810, this Georgian-era piece features a distinctive arched silhouette, bold black Roman numerals, delicate minute markings, and a beautifully weathered ivory-white finish.
Constructed with metal components, the dial displays extensive paint loss, areas of exposed darker material, and a wonderfully timeworn patina that speaks to its long history. Its architectural outline and traditional detailing make it a striking example of early English horological design.
The reverse retains the metal backing plate and original-looking mounting components. A later mechanism has been added, giving this historic clock dial a new decorative life while preserving its antique character.
Measuring 17 inches high by 12 inches wide, this distinctive piece would make a beautiful statement in a study, library, or collected interior. It is particularly suited to lovers of Georgian antiques, architectural salvage, and early English clockmaking.
