A beautiful late 1800s antique English transferware platter by Brownfield & Sons, featuring a charming blue and white woodland landscape with a picturesque cottage, mature trees, and a tranquil waterside scene. Delicate flowering branches adorn the scalloped border, complemented by an intricate geometric frame surrounding the central pastoral illustration.
The warm, aged cream ground and intricate blue transfer print give this piece wonderful character, with an all-over network of fine age-related crazing that speaks to its history. The underside bears the Brownfield & Sons trade mark, along with additional impressed and printed markings.
