Beautiful antique 1923 Homer Laughlin Empress oval serving platter, featuring a warm ivory-cream glaze, a delicate repeating blue-gray floral border, and a fine blue line tracing the rim.
The Empress pattern, introduced around 1913–1914, showcases the understated elegance of early 20th-century American tableware. This substantial 17.5-inch platter has a classic oval silhouette and a softly aged appearance that complements antique ironstone collections, traditional farmhouse kitchens, and English country-inspired interiors.
The reverse bears the Homer Laughlin maker’s mark, identifying this piece as American pottery from one of the country’s best-known historic ceramic manufacturers.
The platter displays extensive all-over glaze crazing, age-related discoloration, surface wear, and a small greenish spot near the upper center. These condition details are visible in the photographs and should be considered when purchasing.
